Confirmations and Fall
Confirmations and Fall!

Happy October! I hope everyone’s October is going as well as mine has. Between High School and University, there has been so much that has happened. I will say most of my entertainment has really come from outside of my High School, but there are still changes that are coming ahead.
Per usual, I shall debrief the academic side of my life first. For starters, I may have some course changes next semester. I am hoping to switch two of my classes, which should be a better move for me because of the things I would like to focus on this year. The first thing I have decided to switch is my Econ class. I am moving down from AP to Honours. Due to my busy schedule, I only get 3 to 4 days a week to do schoolwork and whatever else I have on my to-do list, and I find that AP Gov is taking up so much of my time that I have not had the time to do many other things. I am also trying to switch out of my film class. I don’t want people to think I am not interested in production for film anymore, but with my schedule requiring me to leave campus for WBL, film class is not the most compatible class anymore. Last year, I was able to be extremely involved because I was on campus all day, but with college stuff and work, trying to rush back to campus while managing other things isn’t working out. I have recently felt like I am letting my team down on projects which really sparked having to make this decision. AV is one of my favourite classes because of all the amazing people I have been able to work with and the amazing memories I have in that class. Since I am on my way to university, I want to focus my time on activities outside of school and treasure the time I have left because comes a few short months, I will be hours away from everyone learning to live in a new world. On top of that, I am investing time in scholarships which really requires time to do.
My family is doing well. My parents recently went on a trip to New England. I heard they had a super fun time visiting the beautiful sites and meeting some former classmates of my dad’s. There is also a rumour that Justin may be visiting for Winter Holidays! Andrew is doing well and having a super wonderful time at college. He is part of the Owl Sports Broadcasting Team which is super cool. He’s had his ups and downs, but he is definitely learning a bunch of new things!
I am doing well. One month complete with my insanity of a schedule and Fall Break was much needed. My Fall Break ran from Thursday to Monday, so I got to spend my time doing some super fun activities. I also got to catch up on some much-needed sleep, which was nice. I will fess… I pretty much slept through Pastor Cargo’s last sermon at church.
Thursday, I got to visit KSU for the first time. I arrived after Andrew finished English class and we got to catch up with each other and have lunch. After lunch, he gave me a quick tour before we both went off to study. His Econ teacher didn’t show up, so he had to scour campus to find where I went to do LA work. We returned to his dorm, and I continued to do my LA work for another 3 hours. After I finished HW, we spent 30 minutes catching up more before we went off to dinner with his friends. After dinner, we went to the green for a little bit before I made my way home.
Friday, Jessica took Sadie, Asher, and me to Dekalb Airport which was super fun. We ate at Downwind with Nana and Papa, and I got to geek out about planes during then. Then we went to the playground because Jess had coordinated a gathering for DBP. Sadie got to play with Dax and Jules. I went between the two kiddos making sure they were keeping out of trouble. Sadie is definitely becoming a mini-photographer. On our way back to the office, Jess took us to the car wash. The kid’s reaction to the car wash was super funny.
Saturday, I wrapped up my Fall Break excursions with a trip up to UNG. I got there before sunrise, so I got to enjoy the sun during my quiet time. I also got there before anyone was ready for human interaction because the admissions team managing parking thought I was faculty. During Nighthawk Preview, I got to meet the head of my department and learn more about my major. I also got to talk with a French professor and ask him questions regarding modern languages at UNG. After the event, I met up with Megan and we had lunch. Her friend Donovan joined us, and we hung out together for the whole afternoon. My friend Joshua joined up for a bit when we made it back to campus, and even gave me a tour of downtown Dahlonega and two other dorms. I am super grateful for these friends and can’t believe I get to go to such an amazing school soon!
Since the rest of my time has been doing school, I will leave you with that. I hope you all have an amazing rest of Spooky Season! Until the next one!
