Busy Bee!

by Esther on 10 September 2022

It’s back-to-school season for all the kids at the office!!! I started school over a month ago, but Sadie and Asher started school this past week. August is usually hard for the adults cause Sadie and Asher don’t have camp anymore, so it’s insanity in the office.

School is ok. I don’t really see the glam of senior year yet, but I was sorta the same way when I was graduating from Perimeter. For me, I think most of my senior year fun comes from my Work-Based Learning class because I get to leave school early three times a week. I spend two to three days a week going to the office to work, help out, or just chill and do schoolwork. The rest of it has really been just busy work at this point.

Outside of school, I have been really busy. Recently our Watershed Band Rehearsals started back up and so I am doing that here and there. I am not heavily involved with Watershed Tech this year as my focus has shifted to Main Tech. Another major part of not being heavily involved is cause I am not doing Watershed this year. I am looking forward to BSF starting next week though!! I don’t think I have the same leaders as last year, but I will find out during our first class. We are doing a study on the Kings.

My family is doing well. My parents were sick and then shortly after my mom hurt her back. They are doing much better which is a praise! Labor day was super socially draining this year, but it was worth it. I got to see Andrew after all, and we got to do some stuff together. Roasting my organized chaos of a room and picky clothing choices was definitely the highlight. We did get to cleaning a section of my closet so far. I have realised my closet is really just my personal storage closet cause besides where my clothes are the rest is all storage for winter blankets and old keepsakes.

Lastly, I got to participate in a Murder Mystery Mayhem hosted at Petite Violette. Covid closed down Agatha’s, so Petite Violette invited the cast to do their shows there. It’s only on select weekends, but it is worth going. Each participant gets to enjoy being part of the story and a four-course meal, included when you pay for the event. And if you can’t make it to the Murder Mystery, Petit Violette is still worth visiting. There are all sorts of shows that go on and the food is really good. The restaurant is a small business run by our friends, so it's super fun when we get to support them here and there.

And with that, I will close this one. Thank you to all the people who read these each month as it honestly surprises me how people actually read these. Have a happy rest of September!!

Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt is an amazing economics book I got to read while doing my AP Econ summer assignment. It’s a short and must-read as it changes how you look at economics and detaches from what the news media likes to tell you.

Just Married is a song by Steven Lee Olsen that I recorded for fun. With Aunt La’s wedding coming up on the Ayer side of the fam, I hope this song is uplifting for her and for others who need to hear the sweet message it gives. The video for my recording was struggling, so this is just an audio recording, but please enjoy it still!!

Petite Violette was recently on Atlanta eats!! This restaurant specializes in French cuisine. This restaurant is owned by our friends and has been family owned since its founding. Watch this video to find out more and reserve a trip to support them!!

AeroVentures Flight Club is a nonprofit flight club with a mission to allow more people to fly. My flight instructor Mr. John Post is the founder of this club, and he is really the best flight instructor.

Newsette and The Hustle are two of my favourite quick morning news resources!! Newsette provides news that helps the mind. They cover some of your non-political areas and include some cool things.
